YOU GUYS. Oh my goodness, winter is definitely upon us here in Colorado. Blizzards, crazy winds, days of icy everything – it’s weird. In the middle of all of the winter, my fingers have basically shed every bit of finger prints that they have, my poor feet are just rough, my lips are cracking and sore, and my head is flaky. Winter – it’s rough.
So with that in mind, I thought I’d put together a little post sharing with you how we’ve survived winter thus far.
Okay, me too!
Chapstick. Buy it. Use it. (My fav brand: The Gnarly Whale )
Water. Drink it. Seriously, staying hydrated helps your skin stay moisturized and water just never hurt anyone.
Coconut oil: OH MY GOSH, I swear by this stuff. I use it for everything. I use it to shave with, I use it on my feet when they’re extra rough, I use it on my hands at night sometimes, I even use it in my hair sometimes. Seriously, coconut oil. You can just use it for like everything. Oh and I use it as facial lotion – just a light little layer and it helps keep my skin beautiful. (Did that sound cocky?)
Good hair products! SO important! I’ve been using this intense hydration shampoo and it’s seriously helped with the flaky spots I randomly get on my scalp. I also am a huge lover of Suave Moroccon Hair oil. I’ve used it for years now and it definitely helps my crazy dry hair come back to life.
Dry Shampoo: Less washes = better for you hair. This one has been my fav for a while now, but if you have a favorite one, please share it in the comments so I can check it out!
Humidifier. Humidifiers are made to increase moisture in the air, so having one of these in your house will help prevent sickness (viruses don’t travel well in cold air), it’ll help your skin be softer, comfort your sinuses (nose bleeds suck), help houseplants live through the winter, and even help with that morning growly, scratchy voice you get when you first wake up.
Pedicure equipment. I seriously love my Amope Pedi Perfect thing! They also sell replacement rollers for it! Totally worth the money in my honest opinion! (They sell a mini electronic nail care system too).
So there you have it…. a few of my basic but best tips for making it through the tough winter months.
What’s your biggest winter survival tip?
