You might feel sluggish and groggy, but that’s not how you want to portray yourself to the outside world. So, you had one too many drinks on a Sunday night and you know you look worse for wear. It’s a Monday morning, you’ve got to head out to work, but not like this! Men and women try to look fresh for the morning drive and entrance into work. Your boss can understand his or her employees going out for a party last night, but if you’re a walking hangover, it’s not going to impress them. So, what can be done about this? Well, a lot actually. You have some simple techniques that can be easily learned and remembered. On the other hand, there are somethings that you’ll want to write down so you don’t forget for the next time you’re trying desperately to not look like you’re melting from the sunlight at work.
A flash of cold
When you shower in the morning, you must give yourself a cold flash of water right at the end. The reason for this is, because all the old blood cells that are harboring the toxins built up from last night, will still be at the surface. They make your skin look, dark, red and blotchy. The cold water will send the blood rushing further into your system where it will be caught and then replenished with fresh blood cells. The body does this naturally but the sudden change in temperature will accelerate the process. The new red blood cells will also be able to absorb more oxygen from your lungs and deliver it to your skin, so the recovery process can begin. You only need about 10-20 seconds of standing in the cold stream and you’ll be good to go.

When in doubt, hide
Perhaps you wet your whistle a little too much and didn’t get enough sleep, so almost nothing will make you look fresh in the morning. Well, almost nothing; at least you have concealer. When applied correctly, concealer can hide the dark circles around your eyes and also blend in patches of your skin where you have blotches and bruising. Firstly, find your foundation from the whole raft of options and shades. Made using shea butter, these foundations will immediately hydrate your skin so underneath, the dark circles can begin to heal. They’re also full of Omega 3 and 6, so your skin strengthens and plumps up, ready to become presentable when you wipe your foundation off. There are also, cruelty-free vegan options that are talc, paraben, oil, and fragrance-free. They aren’t tested on animals and they only use natural ingredients.

Dress more formal
Every fiber of your being is telling you to just wear a hoodie and some baggy trousers to work today. You’re tired, still feeling the effects of the partying and you just want to slip into something comfortable. Fight this urge as much as you can. If you want to look fresh in the morning you should dress more formal. Even if your face shows signs of tiredness, you’ll still project an image of professionalism if you keep to sharp lines and snug-fitting professional or high-end clothing. This means a blouse that has noticeable cuffs and a lean waistline. It should be white, as this is the most recognized formal color in workplaces around the world. Wear a snug skirt that compliments your body shape and is in a formal black shade. Black heels are also a good addition to your work outfit, preferably shiny black pumps as these have a noticeable sheen to them.
Flushing your system
This might sound a little odd, but you can flush your system of toxins and any residual alcohol still circling your body. The simple trick is to drink about 2 pints of water before you get in the shower. As soon as you wake up, drink a lot of water and then get into a hot shower which will make you sweat. Essentially, the water will replace the water that you sweat out, flushing all waste products in your pores. It’s such a simple yet effective way to revitalize your skin, get over the hangover quicker and generally, feel more alert and ready for a new day.
It’s hard to look your best when you’ve had about 4-5 hours of sleep and a lot of alcohol. Nobody likes Mondays but you have to look fresh when you arrive at work. So, drink a lot of water and then get into the shower. Accompany that with a cold flash so give your skin a new bath of red blood cells. Conceal and hide your dark circles with products that are designed to breathe new life into your skin.
