Hey guys! Happy Thursday!
Today I went and picked up the papers to enroll Owen in part day preschool (just 2 days a week – it was the slot they had open & I jumped on it because I know how long those waitlists can be). After that, we stopped to buy firewood! FIREWOOD, guys! How cool is that?! We have a fireplace! It’s gorgeous! It’s cold here! The mountains already have snow & people are preparing for a blizzard of 97 repeat! Yeah, yikes huh?!
I freaked out slightly on the phone with David about it and he just laughed at me! He said, “You lived in Alaska, dummy! You’ll be fine”.
Then I freaked out about Owen and preschool and David’s like, “It’s like 5 miles down the road”. He’s right of course, but it’s been years since we lived in Alaska and I had to drive in snow and people up there were used to driving in snow. Colorado drivers are horrible! Apparently it’s NOT illegal to be all up on your phone while driving & there are wrecks daily when the weather is great! It rained yesterday & there were 5 wrecks that popped up in my Facebook newsfeed just locally. Insane, right?! It makes me super nervous though for winter here! I mean, I love snow and I’m excited about it, but other drivers…. ugh.
Anyway, so after picking up that paperwork, we stopped by the thrift store to try to find Fin a new coat (his from last year is about too small).
While we didn’t find a coat for Fin, we did find some other really cool (and cheap) items!
I was literally telling David last night that we needed to get Space Jam for the kids! Then I found it for $0.50! (was originally $1.00 but it was a blue tag & 1/2 off)
Tell me this isn’t the prettiest bowl you’ve ever seen?! The moose was the sealer of the deal for me! I love a good moose! A moose in a pretty bowl though — super win! And again, 1/2 off! Can’t beat that!
David recently purchased a full-faced helmet for rainy days and while browsing, I let Owen pick something. He originally picked a little truck, but quickly put it back in order to get the helmet like Daddy’s!
He’s been running around the house wearing it all day long and I just can’t with the cuteness! Seriously, it’s adorable! David came home & Owen was SO quick to show it off and to tell Daddy all about how they match!
This beauty was $.99! You guys! It’s the perfect photo prop, it’s so pretty and it was literally less than a dollar! I was originally looking at curtains and placemats and stuff like that to be backdrops, but didn’t wanna pay the prices asked for the ones I liked, but this guy… oh be still my heart!
My grand total – $7!
It was only $6 and some change, but when they asked if I wanted to round up the 73 cents, I quickly agreed.
David and I often have the conversation about who wouldn’t round up and apparently a LOT of people don’t.
The two guys in front of me chose to not round up the 11 cents and the 12 cents that would’ve bumped their totals up to an even number and it just all kinds of threw me for a loop because I always round up.
To each their own, I suppose.
Anyway, that’s my thrifting haul for the day! What are some of the coolest things you’ve ever thrifted?
