Alright, friends . . . I am popping in today to share with you my family’s new favorite cookie dough recipe. We’ve tried PLENTY in our day & always end up tweaking them here and there. SOOOOooooooo, I finally sat down and made my own little recipe that we love and it’s so good and the cookies have a slight chew to them and softness to them and they’re just good. Okay. Okay.
Please keep in mind when viewing these photos that I nearly ran out of chips, so our cookies have less than what I would personally recommend but honestly, they’re good without chips too. *shrug*
Let’s begin, shall we?!
For this, you will need the following:
1/2 c butter (room temp)
1/2 c brown sugar
1/3 granulated sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/2c AP flour
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup chocolate chips (but you know… it’s like garlic, YOU decide how much)
In one bowl, mix together your dry ingredients.
In a separate bowl, cream together your butter and sugars.
Blend in your egg and vanilla.
Mix this with your dry ingredients, then add your chocolate chips, gently fold them into your dough.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Freeze the dough for 20 minutes (10 minutes if you prepare the cookies on a lightly greased sheet and freeze the sheets – this is my preferred method).
Bake them for 10-11 minutes, let cool on the pan for a few minutes (I never ever wait a full five minutes) before moving them to a cooling rack. I keep them in my little bear cookie jar, but an airtight container would be best. Ours never last long enough to need the airtight container 😉
And there you have it. I am not a food blogger, my photos are not worthy of that status at all and that is okay, but I do however like to share fun and tasty recipes with my friends and that
I hope you enjoy them if you try them.
If you try them, let me know if they’re good! The kids and David swear by them, but I avoid them because of my dietary restrictions.
