Hey, guys! Heeeeey!
I thought I’d pop in and give you a quick little life update! I feel like it’s been ages since I’ve just rambled & I need to.
You should know that poor Owen is currently sitting on the couch crying and yelling, “I WANT ALL OF THEM”. He’s talking about M&Ms! I gave him about 15 of them instead of like 40 of them and he’s super mad at me! I think preschool wore him out. We’ve had a long weekend – throw in getting up early and he’s done for.
Speaking of long weekends! How was yours?
Ours was fantastic! Saturday & Sunday were both spent at the pool! Yay!
SPEAKING OF THE POOL THOUGH, SUNBLOCK IS YOUR FRIEND!! Seriously though! I took the kids down there last weekend & burned up! It finally healed & started to peel and then we spent 5 hours between Saturday & Sunday back down there! On Sunday I at least was smart enough to put sunblock on my back but totally forgot about my front. Now I have a weird V tan line on my chest & half my back is super red/tan compared to the rest of me! Oh…. and, my suit ties around my shoulders — yeah, that makes for a pleasant burn! Haha! SUNBLOCK! At least I remembered to spray the kids all over, right?! They’re fine & happy! I’m sore and peely. My poor skin!
Let’s talk about my Mother’s day! 🙂
I slept in. I woke up to a clean kitchen, lots of hugs & “we love you! Happy Mother’s Day”s & a pan of brownie/cookie combo! Oh my goodness, so good! Since I’ve cut out sugars, I ate small bites of it here & there and it was such a treat for my belly!
I was also surprised with LOTS of homemade goodies!
Maddie painted a rock for me in school and then decorated it with glitter! She designed a heart on hers out of the glitter! (I knew to expect this since I’d helped out in her class & helped 22 of the kids decorate theirs). I also had a sheet of paper talking about how old she thought I was, where I shopped, etc etc.
Owen’s preschool put together a little teapot, a flower & a cute poem to go with them as well as a Mother’s Day collage (he glued a bunch of things to paper — it was cute).
And Fin’s I’ll get this afternoon. Since I checked the kids out early on Friday, he didn’t get his project yet.
Seriously though, the best part of homemade goodies are the looks of proudness on the kids’ faces as they hand you one by one their little masterpieces!
David also got me a coffee (tradition), my favorite barista, Brittany even wrote, “Happy Mother’s Day” on it for me and then David stopped & grabbed me a little Vera Bradley bag & some new shoes that I’m totally obsessed with and my sisters sent me some cards.
Oh! Maddie’s class also pampered us moms with a Ma Spa day! I got a massage, my nails done, my hair done & lots of tasty refreshments! So cute & so fun!
So yeah, that was my Mother’s Day 2015! How was yours?
