Ever since we moved out to Colorado, David has been a lot more into outdoorsy adventures. It probably has to do with the fact that this day 2 years ago in Georgia it was still in the HIGH 80’s. Nobody ever wanted to do many outside things when we lived in Georgia, it was just too hot and muggy outside. Unless it was going to the pool, it was not happening. But now that we have normal weather, (Sort of, Colorado weather is pretty weird too but at least it isn’t in the 80’s in December) we’ve been doing a lot more outdoorsy things. Like just over the weekend, we went hiking some mini trails with Bo and the kids.
David also likes to hunt but hasn’t really gotten the chance to since we got here. He has a bit of time off over Christmas, so he plans on finally going then. Because David’s about to be spending more time outdoors, I thought I’d put together a Manly Man’s stocking for him and share a quick little “how to” with you guys. It’s filled with things he’ll need and I’ll explain why I grabbed each one up.
Gloves to keep his hands warm.
Hand warmers to go in his pockets if for some reason he needed to remove his gloves (to text me).
A beanie. I went with orange because hunting!
Sock liners to keep his feet warm. I debated on thicker socks or these and landed on these because I didn’t want his feet to be too thick in the boots.
Bug Spray to keep away the crawling things.
Wallet. His current day to day wallet is longer and I don’t want to risk it falling out of his pocket while he’s out in the woods.
Popcorn to eat when he gets home and is just starving.
Slim Jim to take with him and snack on while he waits.
Now all you have to do is strategically place them all into a stocking & you’re good to go! Good luck hiding them though, David usually finds all of his gifts out before Christmas and mostly by pure accident while looking for other things. What’s one of your go-to stocking items every year?
