I put to much vanilla syrup flavoring stuff in my coffee today. Blech.
Homemade coffee is so much cheaper than Starbucks. I still love me some bucks though. My bank account doesn’t.
Anyway, I think it’s been a while since I’ve done a life update so I figured it was high time.
David took our Sadie bug out hunting with him Saturday morning (Not an unusual thing) and she ran off. They went to cross over a little creek, she hesitated, pranced around & just bolted! He chased after her for as long as he could but she eventually just lost him (she’s a quick little thing). I’ve been all over the place this week emotionally for so many different reasons but this one just tugs at my heart, guys. Sadie bug is MY puppy. David spent all day Saturday in the woods with the exception of about 2 hours because he found another dog & took it to the vet, then to the police station where they held it for the local shelter to come get (they’ve since cleaned him up, tried to find his owner & he’ll be up for adoption shortly if the owner isn’t found. The vet did say the owner moved in 2012 though, so…. at least we rescued him from the woods, right?!). David went back out to continue the search & came home defeated once night fell.
We spent Sunday printing fliers & hanging them up EVERYWHERE. We did come across another pup out there which turned out to be someone’s dog that just randomly roams those woods and then returns home.
We’ve posted on facebook pages, craigslist, etc etc. We left a cage out there for her with a blanket as well as shirts (we go back every few days to switch out the shirt) of David’s hoping she’d catch the smell.
Someone spotted her Monday night & called David on Tuesday morning (when he saw the flier) about it so we knew where to look. I’ve spent $80 in gas in the past week just driving around the area she was lost looking for her. (That’s like 2 full tanks & I get a bit over 300 miles to the tank). So many people are looking for her, I just hope & pray she turns up. Thankfully the weather’s been nice up until today – it’s raining but I know she doesn’t mind the rain. She happily plays in it.
Around the blog, I’ve shared What’s in Maddie’s closet as well as starting up a little fashion corner for Miss Maddie.
Other than that, I shared my favorite chicken recipe
Fin: Boy oh boy, this kid is ridiculously smart, has such an active imagination, and just has the biggest heart ever!
My mind is blown by the things his mind absorbs! His current favorite book is a Goosebumps book – it’s a thicker book filled with a few different stories! He reads it every night before bed! How that boy sleeps still is beyond me!
His new favorite TV show — ancient aliens on Netflix. Yup!
In school he’s learning about adjectives, multiplication & division! I’m just blown away by all of this. I swear I didn’t learn any of this until later in school!
Maddie: Miss Maddie, goodness this child…. she’s hilarious & so full of energy & so overly smart but so stubborn! She gets so frustrated SO quickly. She’s quick to answer, “I don’t know” to a new sight word which I’ve explained a million times that of course she’s not going to know right away the new word. Once she knows it though, there is NO stopping her! She’s such a smart little cookie, she’s so full of energy & is all girlie! Loves flowers and stars (and can draw a pretty awesome star mind you, she showed me this the other day). She’s just as odd as Fin when it comes to the scary stories & Ancient aliens though! She falls asleep EVERY SINGLE NIGHT watching the Lord of the Rings movies! How does that not give her nightmares?! She’s so silly!
She also sleeps with EVERYTHING she can in her bed! She wraps up in her favorite blanket & falls asleep “reading” books with hr flashlight.
Owen: Oh good golly gosh, this boy…. he’s a hot mess, guys! He’s definitely a threenager. He’s so sweet & cuddly one minute and then super allstar boy the next! I’m talking – wrestling, rough housing, jumping off furniture, sliding down stairs, he’s crazy! His favorite thing is to watch Daniel Tiger on my kindle; he’s seen every episode like 30x. Not even exaggerating!
He’s such a ham! Totally acts shy if anyone talks to him, but will point out everyone he knows as he sees them drive past us or ask if everybody & their moms can come to our house to play, etc etc. He’s silly! His daycare provider is moving so we’ve put him on the wait list for Preschool. There are 20+ kids on the list so I doubt he’ll get a slot before we move, but he’s excited about it either way!
