Now that we live in Colorado, we do a lot more hiking. Nothing too strenuous because we always have the kids out there with us, but we still go out for hours at a time just seeing what’s out there. Each time we go, I make sure to pack a bag full of things we definitely need and things we might need. So today, I thought I’d show you how to put together the perfect hiking bag since I’ve kind of become a champ at it.
Sunblock. Being almost 10,000 feet closer to the sun means you’re definitely more likely to get burnt. Even if you don’t live in a higher altitude like we do, being in the sun for hours at a time without sunblock probably just isn’t the smartest choice.
Band-Aids. You just never know when you’ll need a band-aid. You could get scratched by a tree, fall while climbing and scrape yourself up, or if you’re my kid, you could just need one because you like the design and you’re four years old.
Sunglasses. I feel like this one is a given. It gets pretty bright outside.
Neosporin spray. Goes hand in hand with the band-aids.
Deodorant. (hello, sweat)
Chapstick. Don’t question it, just trust me.
Wipes. Do you know how many times I’ve wanted to just wash my hands while hiking? Wipes are always a good thing to have on hand.
A handy bag. I went with the a rope bag because it’s handy & hands free! It has two main pockets – one for snacks and one for other items.
Water. Good ole h2o. Again, spend lots of time outdoors and you’ll need to stay hydrated! I use one with a clip to clip it to my bag (hands free!)
What about you? Do you and your family hike? Spend time outdoors? What else would you add to your bag?
