Happy Tuesday! I’m so happy to be back after a little break with no internet. After realizing our internet was running slower than dial-up, and spending 45 minutes on the phone with customer service who couldn’t answer ANY of our questions, tried to charge us either $35 or $5 for a technician to come out and then said our time slot was 9am-11pm, and after hearing her kids for 45 minutes, we called someone else. They scheduled set up for 2 days later. Awesome! Come 2 days later though, we quickly realized that it was only for the TV/cable portion! So we called the internet company, picked up the box from the local place and came home anxious. Lots of customer service calls, lots of weirdly scheduled appointments – we had two appointments set up for days apart, how does that even happen?! Long story short, after 11 days without internet, we are finally all connected and ready to go again. Dumb, right?!
In other news, Santa came! Hooray! Santa actually didn’t bring that many gifts this year for the kids since they’d already gotten tons from family. We also put NOTHING under the tree until Christmas eve night because we have pets that like to be nosey & open presents! ha.
You may notice the MILLIONS of tiny stocking hanging and wonder who in the world they’re all for! Well, my mom & brother just moved out here (YAY!!) and are staying with us while they get settled and find jobs, houses, where exactly they want to live, etc. etc. I am SO excited to have them here! We haven’t even seen them since December 2013! Isn’t that just crazy?! With them came their mini Cujo, Moses & their total oddball cat, Selena. But pictured are all of the stockings to include plastic Fin the fish pet of Fin’s Moses isn’t fixed yet. Missy’s in heat. The kids are on Christmas break. David’s on block leave. It’s been so insane just everyday, but totally worth every crazy moment to have them out here.
Every year we do secret Santa among the adults. My sister, Courtney drew my name this year & sent me tons of goodies to include this cute little mug of Fox.
David went out and got a little gift for mom and me. He refused to tell either of us anything about it except that we’d both cry. Damn him! He was right. We both bawled like babies. He got mom a ring with all of her kids & grandkids’ birthstones in it (and even in order of when we were born) And then he surprised me with this! I am so in love with it. If you’re new here, you probably don’t know but I don’t usually wear jewelry that often — I’ve been ringless for YEARS! After having kids, my fingers fattened up a bit so my old ring didn’t fit the tiny Amber that I used to be, and I’d been saying that I’d like a new one for our 10 year anniversary and he surprised me with this one a bit early. (April makes 10 years together – how insane is THAT?!)
Then we ate & ate & ate & ate.
The rest of these photos: Fin got a mini gerber for Christmas and insisted on opening everyone’s presents for them.
Maddie got tons of Shopkins stuff and the mini Ayla doll she wanted.
Owen got tons of dinosuars and loves each & everyone!
And it was the year of board games in the McCain house! Jenga, Uno, Magic the gathering, Battleship, Checkers …. and we’ve enjoyed every game a million times now! We’ve also had the “don’t be a sore loser” chat a million times now as well.
I hope you all have had a wonderful past couple of days. I know we certainly have!
