Being a military family means that I miss a lot of baby showers, weddings, bridal showers, birthday parties, etc etc… BUT I’ve learned to put together some awesome care packages!
My friend, Lisa recently had a baby shower and of course I wasn’t able to make it, but I did put together a cute little box that I thought I’d share with you guys today.
Usually, I buy matching stickers to put on the inside of the box (like baby shower stickers, babies, etc etc) but was in a bit of a rush & we’re trying to save money for the move & downsize our house, so random stickers just didn’t make sense at the time.
Anyway, for this box, I threw in a few outfits, some baby hangers, some pacifiers, and other odd & end things. Maddie and I spent an afternoon browsing Target’s baby clothes & counting on our fingers trying to figure out what season it would be when baby girl was so many months old so that we made sure to get a few perfectly fitting/seasonally appropriate outfits.
Oh, the best part of gifts like this — it’s easy to budget them in… on one shopping trip, I bought the outfits, on the next, I bought the hangers & pacifiers, the next I bought the headbands and the teethers and the card. Spreading it out makes it easier to budget in.
Wrap it all up in tissue paper, throw a card on top & pop it in the mail!
In this case, Lisa came home from the hospital after a bit of a labor scare to a fun little box for baby!
As much as it pains me to have to miss out on two of my friends having a baby together, at least I get to shop & send them fun mail!
