Since Owen could walk, David’s favorite phrase has been, “FIN! MADDIE! OWEN! ASSSSEEEMMMBBBLLEE!” Or just, “CHILDREN!!! ASSEMBLE!” I kid you not! He says it at home, the grocery store, the park, etc etc. It doesn’t matter where we are. And without fail, they all three come running! They know what’s up! They’re Avengers-aholics! They’re super pumped about the new movie coming out tomorrow; MARVEL’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
I headed to Walmart to help pick up a few things that I thought would help hype the kids up for the movie’s release while we had a big ole MARVEL movie night in our house. I put together a little movie night jam packed with matching outfits, lots of snacks, a few movies (that we already own of course) and a few new pieces to add to their ever growing costume collection! I even got them Avengers cups! They were THRILLED!
I picked up some matching outfits for the kids (with the exception of Maddie…she has a different pair of shorts than the boys do because the boy shorts would’ve just fallen right off of her little bum), some Kellogg’s Fruit Snacks and Cheez-It baked snack crackers, a 2 liter of Dr Pepper, and some Doritos because they had the Avengers on them & I couldn’t pass them up! Haha! What’s a movie night without proper snackage?! Oh and I grabbed a throw blanket for all those couch cuddles!
I mean seriously — aren’t they just cute?! They spent all weekend running around role playing! They’d take turns & switch up who got to be who; Maddie was always Thor though – it’s the only mask she liked (Except Thor’s poor hammer was no match for the beast known as Bo the dog).
They played Candyland and connect 4, they raced scooters outside, they took turns running out of gas & filling each other back up, they played in mud puddles and picked me roses from our rose bush! At one point, I had enough petals around me to box up & sell to anyone wanting them for a romantic evening! Ha!
I drank Dr Pepper and boy, it was TASTY! (I’ve cut sugar out of my diet for the most part so this was a nice little treat).
And the fun doesn’t stop there! There’s an app!
