We actually found ourselves waking up to a few inches of snow on Saturday. YAY! It has been a very dry winter, which is no good come summer/fire season.
But, at least the boys got to have some fun in it before it melted.
Fin has hit the preteen stage, and it is hilarious. Dramatic and hilarious. He’s so funny, makes the dumbest jokes, laughs at my puns, and faceplants the snow.
(Notice Owen rocking Maddie’s leopard print coat. haha it’s what happened when mom washes your coat and it shreds in the dryer… good times, good times – we will be coat hunting this week haha)
We enjoyed a couple of glorious hours of snow before it all melted away. Look at the above picture, behind the boys — the road and sidewalk back there are already melted. Colorado snow storms are WILD!
Maddie & Owen helped me touch up our table (Read the original post) on Sunday. They love getting to help with little projects like this and I love that they want to help. I always want to encourage painting, redecorating, redoing, and DIYs. It is so good to let them get their hands messy. What better way to teach them creativity than hands on?!
Otherwise our weekend was spent catching up on laundry, dishes, and house tidying up. Maddie and Owen did a bit of purging of their bedrooms, while rearranging a few things here and there. Owen wanted to free up some floor space, and Maddie cut her stuffed animal collection IN HALF. Like, whoa! All of her own accord, she chose to clean out and donate half of her stuffed animals. It always melts my heart watching them downsize, knowing that they sometimes still love a certain toy but still choose to pass it on to someone else because they no longer play with it. (Don’t worry, we keep lots in storage for their kiddos later in life too)
Ending this with a photo of these two fools hogging my bed while I attempted laundry. Don’t they look super helpful?
I hope your weekend was nice. Any fun happen? Got anything exciting happening this week?
