Be real with me… how many times have you cut yourself trying to use plastic wrap?! About a bajillion?! I KNOW! Me too! It is SO frustrating and really painful! I mean, ever get jalopeno juice on that cut?! THAT SUCKS! It just does. Today though, I’m here to share a kitchen victory with you and I KNOW you can appreciate this. Plus, I’ll be sharing a few bonus hacks too. The victory?! Reynolds KITCHENS® Quick Cut™ Plastic Wrap NOW has a built-in slide cutter that ensures a clean cut, every single time. Like, is your mind blown?! Because mine is/was! I mean, watch the video and just look at mine & Maddie’s excitement! haha. Even the kids know how great this is.
Cover your tablet or phone in plastic wrap to create a “splatter guard” when cooking with online recipes in the kitchen. Even with the plastic wrap around your touchscreen devices, you’ll still have full functionality. I do this with my cookbooks too to keep them looking new and fresh.
Place a piece of plastic wrap under the caps of liquid travel bottles (shampoo, conditioner, etc.) to prevent leaks and spills while traveling. Nothing is worse than getting to your destination and realizing shampoo has spilled all over your bag.
Create an anti-blister grip by wrapping the handle of a wooden spoon, rake or paint roller in plastic wrap to make it easier to hold and more gentle on your hands. I do this to our utensils to help David’s hands actually. He loves to cook, is in cullinary school, but has bad hands. So the extra grip helps a ton. This hack helps tiny hands in the kitchen too.
Banish ice cream freezer burn by draping a sheet of plastic wrap over ice cream before sealing and storing. I love ice cream. But I love it on my time, like when I’m in the mood for it… therefore it sits in the freezer for well… basically ever. Thankful that I learned this tip a long time ago, otherwise my ice cream would be tossed into a trash can and I’d be a sad lady.
Hello, all. I hope you’re having an enjoyable day. Mine so far has been pretty decent, but it’s a Saturday afternoon as I’m typing this and our Saturdays are pretty chill. I realized I never shared any March outfits and after sharing February’s I wanted to try to make this a thing and here we are halfway through April and no March outfit post yet. I even talked about working on it here in this post. Life, y’all. Haha.
I grabbed this sweatshirt from a thrift shop! Win. Grab the jeans here Use code AMBER20 for 20% off
Aside from freak snow days, we’re hitting 70-80 degree weather so I feel like a few of my upcoming outfits will be more hiking attire. Ha. We’ve already gone hiking about a cajillion times in the last two weeks.
That’s all I’ve got for today… I wear so many more outfits, but it’s been really cold and weird weather, so the majority of my outfits have just been sweatpants and active wear while trying to keep warm.
A few posts back, I talked about my 2018 words and how/why self care is so important. You can read that over here if you’d like. I talked about Olay and how to Glow up and make sure your skin is looking it’s very best. Most people lose focus on their resolutions by the time February even rolls around… but with the help of Olay I’ve been able to keep up with my Glowing 😉
Some ways to make sure your skin is looking at it’s BEST include: make sure you’re drinking plenty of water. H2O is a big key to hydration. Exfoliate once or twice a week. Massage your facial products in. Clean your makeup brushes. Wear sunscreen. Clean your phone! A dirty phone makes for a dirty face. Wear blush. Weird, right?! But a pop of color can make your skin look more awake. Get plenty of sleep. Take your makeup off at the end of the day. Drink your water, eat those fruits and veggies (Watermelon is my favorite go-to,), cut down on the alcohol, and just glow.
In case you’ve forgotten or are new around here, I’ve been using the following:
The facial cleansers are: Olay MicropolishingCleansing Infusion Hydrating Glow Facial Cleanser with Crushed Ginger & Citrus Extract Olay Cleansing Infusion Hydrating Glow Facial Cleanser with Deep Sea Kelp & Aloe Extract
The body cleansers are: Olay Microscrubbing Cleansing Infusion Hydrating Glow Body Wash with Crushed Ginger Olay Cleansing Infusion Hydrating Glow Body Wash with Deep Sea Kelp
These are non-stripping cleansers that contain biorenewing hydrators that improve your skin’s condition as you wash, revealing your natural glow. Crushed ginger body & facial cleansers contain exfoliators that break down as you wash, creating a micropolishing effect that reveals a smooth surface for healthy looking and feeling skin. Clinically proven to enhance skin’s radiance after just one use (as tested using Olay’s unique chromometer technology).
I’ve definitely noticed a difference in my skin. It’s glowier than what it was before I started using this. And in the deep, dry winter months of Colorado, achieving any kind of “glow” is nearly impossible. Plus, it smells really good. (The Deep Sea Kelp one if my favorite of the two). We all know that winter months can and usually are brutal, espeically on our skin. Take control of that, use products that help moisturize your skin. You don’t have to look dry and pale and gross during the winter months. Fight back, glow up! Give Olay a try.
Today I wanted to hop on here and introduce you all to my favorite mascara. I’ve tried more than my fair share of mascaras in my day and this is honest to goodness my FAVORITE. The more SeneGence items I try, the more LipSense isn’t my favorite. I’ve been using LashSense with UnderSense (in Black) for a few months now and it’s amazing. Not only do my lashes get some volume and umph to em (thank you, UnderSense), but they’re also water resistant. I CAN GO SWIMMING AND IT NOT MESS UP MY MASCARA! Seriously, I’ve tried it for myself. I’ve watched videos of others trying it. Like, my mind was blown!
And when it comes to to wash, it doesn’t wear/tear my lashes out with it. Has that ever happened to you with “waterproof” mascara? You try to wash it off, and it takes out lashes with it? It’s not fun. Clumps aren’t fun either. My lashes look so much longer and fuller when I use this. And it’s so easy to use. You apply the UnderSense side first, then apply the LashSense (before the UnderSense dries). One eye at a time is how I apply mine.
Curl. UnderSense. LashSense. Done.
Water resistant. Long lasting. Heat and humidity resistant. Winning.
Happy Monday, you all. I hope you’ve had a nice weekend. We enjoyed some nicer weather (we’re supposed to get snow 3x this week, but I bet that’ll change by the time I finish updating this post. haha). Maddie and I soaked our toes and treated ourselves to an at home pedicure. When your kiddo requests matching toes, you agree wholeheartedly even though you know it’s gonna make your brain explode inside.
I layered some fun lip colors. One layer of Plumeria LipSense and two layers of Lilac Lacquer.
Fin’s reaction to a printout David has about a breakdown of quarts/gallons/cups… it’s a genius little printout breakdown but Fin’s reaction is even better.
Somewhere over the weekend, we switched around Maddie and Fin’s bedrooms…moved Maddie upstairs and Fin’s room down the basement. Owen found his raccoon hat and had himself a little Curious George adventure finding all of Bill’s rabbits with George.
We’re spring breakin’ it up over here now. It’s David’s college spring break too, so if you need me… I’ll either be having a great time playing board games with my little crew or I’ll be hiding in my room counting down the days til spring break is over. I’m sure I’ll be bouncing back and forth between the two all week. 😉
Hi, guys and gals! Happy to have you here again today! Today I wanted to chat about how to UP your Easter food prep game without breaking the bank and without actually working harder. Smarter not harder, right?! Right! So, stuffed green olives is my answer for you. Now, hear me out… I know that sounds a bit silly…olives are an “smarter not harder” fix?! How so, amber?! Well, let me tell ya…..
Everyone loves to snack and graze. Especially at get togethers. Try a platter. Add your favorite cheeses, meats and nuts and don’t forget the Pearls Specialties olives. These olives add a refined touch without spending a bunch. That’s a win in my book!
David and I love to add em to our lunches. We dice em up and add em to sandwiches or to pizzas. Tonight for dinner I’m making a chicken bacon pasta salad (very similar to this one I’ve shared before) using these Pitted Kalamata olives and I’m so excited about it. It’s going to be so yummy! Check my IG stories later for it because I’m sure I’ll share a pic :p
Tell me your favorite way to eat olives? Do you make a platter and eat your stuffed green olives that way? Do you use them to top a salad? A pizza? They’re even perfect for a girls night in. Just add some cheese and crackers to a platter with these bad boys and done! Who wouldn’t eat that up?! I know I would. Do your prefer black olives? green olives? Stuffed olives? Have you tried the Garlic Stuffed Olives yet? Or the Blue Cheese Stuffed Olives? Those would be so yummy with a platter of buffalo chicken. Mmm. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it and I just ate pizza for lunch (with olives on it, duh).
So, boom. There you have it. A few different ideas and ways to incorporate the best olives into your Easter food prepping, snack makings, and meals in general. 🙂
