Did you know that Winterizing your car was a thing?! It was not something that crossed my mind until we found out we were getting sent to live in Alaska for a few years. Thankfully we bought a new (and already winterized) vehile once w actually got up there, but I had NO clue we would even need a winterized vehicle.
Another helpful tip, make connections locally. In today’s world, this isn’t really a challenging thing to do. The internet makes a GREAT source for meeting new people & making new friends. I only joined to get tips to help prepare myself to move to a totally different climate than what I was used to (Tennessee girl), but also on how to prepare with tiny babies! (Fin was 2 and Maddie wasn’t even 1 yet). Thankfully, through that internet group, I met a few ladies that were so beyond helpful! Two of which I’m still really close to now, years and years later.
