Happy Tuesday, friends. I hope you’ve all had a great weekend and have a good week. Saturday we packed a cooler, loaded up and headed out to Maintou Lake in Woodland Park, Co. IT WAS GORGEOUS! When we lived in Georgia, there was a little pond down the road that we’d often head out to spend the day at. We’d been missing that pond lately, so David finally Googled fishing places near us. Oh my goodness, you guys. While the kids didn’t catch a single thing (totally fine, because we’re catch and releasers anyway), we had such a nice day!
We stayed for a few hours, ate lunch, fished, and then David & the kids tossed around a football while I browsing through pictures I’d taken earlier that day. We ended up a little sunburned, but overall we’re good. Fin’s face was fine by the next morning. My lips were puffy by the end of the night from being so sunburned. They peeled yesterday and it was super gross and all flakey and I couldn’t do much about it without making my mouth bleed. It wasn’t fun. Especially since yesterday was preschool after a week of being gone, so all eyes were on us already. Good times, good times. After tons of coconut oil, they’re better now. Raw, but super smooth.
We hope to head a bit farther out next weekend to try out a pond David read about. I’m so glad that Fall is finally trying to roll in and that the weather is a bit cooler. It makes it more fun to do outdoor activities and easier to spend longer outside.
