Happy Friday! I hpoe you guys have a had a great week, if not… at least it’s over! Can I get an Amen?! Uh-huh! Phew, it’s been a long one here too. I did however FINALLY make progress with my whole no license thing. A lady at the DMV on post finally opened a law book, checked Alaska laws and turns out, when you pair it with my Military ID, it’s still valid! It’s valid up until we go back to Alaska, or up until 90 days after David gets out of the Army! WHAT THE WHAT!?!?! So we printed off the papers, took it back to the social security office, and wham! Bam! Done! She ordered me a replacement card AND changed my name. AMBER MCCAIN! No more last name crap messing with everything. I wish I could sit & write up the whole long story, but it’s too much to even make sense of. But, believe me when I say that Social Security can mess up. Remember all our Tax Return issues? Lordy. Anyway, so I still had to order a new birth certificate (even though I have the original), but rules change and I had to cough up $57 to order a new one. Ordering over phone saved me $20. Online it would’ve been $77. Isn’t that insane?! For a new birth certificate! WHEN I HAVE THE ORIGINAL! So crazy. But, in about 2 weeks I’ll have my new Social security card and my birth certificate, so I will be getting a COLORADO license that says McCain. I AM SO FLIPPIN’ EXCITED! David & I have been married for TEN years and this is just now happening. Seriously, it’s been a process.
In other news, I’ve lost weight. If you follow me on Instagram (I don’t know why you don’t already) you’ve probably seen this… that shirt is a size MEDIUM! I’m usually a large or XL depending. Now, I have a closet full of cute clothes & literally nothing to wear. It’s weird. They’re all too big. I told David that I was glad I at least still had all of my shoes. But, I love a good excuse to shop, so yay! Except I’m totally too cheap to pay full price. I don’t think that makes me cheap…I think clothes just cost too much. While I don’t mind paying full price for some things (boutiques, small businesses, friends’ shops), I don’t think that Gap needs $20+ for a basic gray undershirt. I go thrifting. I scored 4 shirts (all mediums, WHAT?!) for under $15 the other day! That is a win, folks. That’s a total win.
So, if you have recommendations on what I should do with my old clothes (seriously, they’re good and cute), let me know before I just donate them. And any suggestions on where to shop for new clothes? Thanks in advance!
I love Colorado. Have I said that?! I do. It’s so pretty here. The other day, David & I loaded up with Owen and headed out West. (I think it was West) We ended up in a tiny town just outside of Woodlawn Park.
Isn’t this place just gorgeous?! And let’s talk about that Bear Proof trash can! What the what?! This is so crazy!
I’m off to grocery shop now. Well, pick up a few things we forgot yesterday when we went. I hope you guys have an awesome weekend! Pop back in Monday and link up to the Best of the Blogosphere!
