Who doesn’t love a great philly?!
We love food. We love to make food. We love to eat food. Most of the time we choose to eat at home, it’s honestly because we know we can make it better than the local restuarant. So, the other day we were at Albertsons doing a bit of shopping and were so excited to grab these flavors of Great Midwest Cheese.
You’ll need
Chicken (boiled in chicken broth, salt and pepper, then shredded)
Buns of some sort. We actually meant to grab Hoagie buns, but grabbed sausage rolls by mistake. haha. They worked, they were delicious
Turkey bacon
Peppers, diced
Great Midwest cheese (We used Habenero Jack & Jalapeno Jack)
Butter & milk to melt cheese down.
Garlic, salt & pepper (to taste-while typing this, my husband informed me that this was “cullinary terminology”)
For these sandwiches, we chose to melt down our cheese to drizzle over the top of the sandwiches. Melting cheese in a pot is pretty simple really, melt a bit of butter, add some flour, some hot milk, cheese. Stir, stir, stir. Don’t let it get too hot though.
Once the chicken was shredded, we threw it into a skillet with the cooked bacon, the peppers, a bit of garlic, salt, & pepper. Stir, cook til peppers are done and tender.
Start assembling plates. (We paired our with french fries).
Once you’ve got your chicken mix onto your buns, add the cheese.
Serve and enjoy.
