Are you a fan of game day entertaining? Me too! I love entertaining in general. It’s exhausting and I almost always try to talk myself out of it at first because cleaning, cooking, entertaining, it’s a lot adds up quickly, and before you know it, I’m over it before it even began. Ha. You too? Tell me I’m not alone in this?! I love entertaining though. I love having people over. It’s just so fun and it’s what we’ve done for years now, that is seems weird when we don’t have people over for the holidays or sporting events or whatever we’d normally have em over for. Moving is weird and kind of a pain. Making friends as an adult is challenging, but man making those friends & getting to invite them over… worth it.
This game day though, I decided to simplify things a bit. I headed to Sam’s Club (we’re a family of 5…bulk shopping is our thing) and grabbed a few Red Baron Minis and Red Baron Deep Dish Singles. Who doesn’t love pizza?! Pizza and game day?! That’s a no brainer.
So, Sam’s club pizzas, drinks, chips, and a few other things and we were set to watch the game. I kept it simple, wanted the main to focus to be the Red Baron pizzas. Plus, Sam’s club shopping, saving in bulk – that’s a total win in itself. Overall, we all had a really great time. Good food, good company, good ending to a game day.
What about you? Do you have a go-to tip to share with me for game day entertaining? What’s your go to dish to serve? I love being the hostess with the mostest, but I also love simple sanity saving tips and Red Baron was my sanity saver this game day.
And the best part?! Since I bought them in bulk, I have more in the freezer just waiting to be baked.
The other day David and I dropped the kids off at school and headed up to Denver to do some shopping. YAY! If you remember, I’ve lost a decent amount of weight over the last year-ish so new clothes definitely can’t hurt at this point. Have you heard of Evereve yet? Such a cute little shop!
Evereve is a retail brand founded by moms for moms. We all know the shopping struggles, with kids especially…phew. Evereve has that taken care of for you! The moms running the Evereve we went to were so stinkin’ cute and friendly.
Evereve is on a mission to inspire you to embrace your beauty and power, and to show that dressing like a mom is a really great thing.
Poor David had NO idea what to do with himself while we were there though, because when he shops with me, his main job is to hold my items, but every single time he’d have one, she’d come grab it from him to put into my dressing room. MY dressing room. She’d set it up for me, even put various sizes in there for me just in case because she knew some things ran up or ran small. They wrote my name on there, gave me feedback on every outfit I walked out in, it was just such an amazing shopping experience. It was just so much fun! I felt like such a VIP that day, and I WAS!
Keep scrolling to see which I took home! The grey sweater? The jeans? Those camo joggers?! So many great options! Sharing more on my Instagram as well.
Evereve is also offering one of you the chance to win a $500 shopping spree! Isn’t that awesome?! Follow them on Facebook. Head here for more details.
Side note, I greatly regret not getting that long grey sweater. Hopefully when Evereve opens up here in Colorado Springs next month they’ll have it and I can grab it because *heart eyes*.
Are you a breakfast eater? I want to be, I love breakfast foods, it just usually doesn’t work out for me that I eat breakfast in the middle of downing coffee and getting kids out the door. Life, right?! Now weekends though, that is a whole different story… I love a big ole breakfast but I also have the time to wake up and enjoy some coffee before making it. Weekdays though… those are the days that I’m all about some grab n go products. Which leads me to today’s post topic…
I grabbed some from Walmart the other day (yay Ibotta rebates!) and was so excited about them. I definitely prefer the Vanilla flavor over the Mixed Berry but I love that there are so many different flavor options to choose from.
The portability of these drinks makes it so great to grab and drink on my way to school drop off or to the grocery store. (Seriously, don’t grocery shop while hungry, your bank account will be sad and you’ll be shocked by all the food that jumped into your cart. haha)
Let me tell you a few things that you probably did not know about these…
Dannon® Oikos® Yogurt Drinks contain 10g of high-quality dairy protein
Dairy protein contains all 9 essential amino acids that your body needs but can’t make on its own – this makes it a “complete” protein. Not only do Dannon® Oikos® Yogurt Drinks have an excellent source of high quality dairy protein, but is also an excellent source calcium and vitamin D.
Dannon® Light & Fit® Nonfat Yogurt Drink 4 pack is a smart choice for balanced nutrition on the go. It is so easy to shake up your routine with your favorite fruit flavors in a smooth 7 fl. oz. nonfat yogurt drink with 9 grams of protein, 90 calories, 0 added sugar, and 0% fat.
Basically, it’s a delicious way to eat on the go! As a lady that spends a good amount of her day on the go, I for one am very thankful for Dannon drinks. What about you? Which are you gonna try?
Happy Friday, friends. I have five things to share with you today… ready?
1. I won a gift card from a photo in an old post & just bought the Christmas presents with it! We managed to get gifts for my nephew, a friend, all three kids’ want, read, wear. (We skipped Need, they don’t need anything), we chose dog gifts and stocking stuffers, a stocking stuffer and gift for us, and checked out! Still have $4 on that card. That’s a win, guys. We don’t go overboard on gifts, but that was a HUGE chunk in our Christmas list. Yay!
2. If we’re friends on Instagram, you probably saw this picture
The size medium sweater I'm wearing has sat in my closet with (clearance) tags on it for TWO years. I've never donated it in all of my closet purges and today I was REALLY thankful that I've held on to it for so long. Do you see that stack of tops next to me? They're all mediums. I have apparently dropped some major pounds over the past few months without giving it much thought…. until the past couple of days when I've tried to find clothes to wear and they've all fallen off of me. David laughed at me this morning when I was frantically searching for this sweater and told me to go shopping and get some clothes that actually fit. ? Don't have to tell me twice. ?? Being the super frugal person that I am, I went to Goodwill. $15 later, in now the proud owner of 4 new size medium ? tops! Also these pants didn't fit last year, now they're slightly too big. I'm not complaining, but I have no clothes. What the what is happening right now?! Also, there's a book review on the blog. Link in my bio. ? That's my ramble for the day. ?? #ootd #lotd #thrifting #ImJudgingYou #CG
So I’ve been cleaning out my closet. I let my sisters have first dibs on anything they liked, but I have NO idea what to do with the rest. Do I just donate them? I donate a TON throughout the year, and I could really use NEW clothes now, so I’m wanting to sell them or like swap them out, store credit… I know there are tons of places, Plato’s closet, Thredup, etc etc… but I need personal recommendations. Who have you consigned with? What do I do?
3. David and I woke up this morning at different times. We got ready at different times, left the house at different times. I get home, he’s changing clothes… he comes downstairs, we leave the house. We’re wandering around the store and I looked down at my outfit and noticed his boots… I looked at his outfit and laughed. We totally matched. He was wearing brown shoes (not the boots pictured below – changed to ride the motorcycle). Beanie. We’ve been married for a long time, guys.
4. Today’s outfit is brought to you by a too big shirt that is oversized now, and LulaRue leggings. I own a few pairs now. I’ve always been super weird about wearing leggings as pants, but I bite the bullet today. I felt weird and self-conscience all day, but was really comfortable and still felt cute. That’s confusing, isn’t it?! Either way, I stepped out of my comfort zone a bit, and felt sort of confident.
5. What are your weekend plans? I’m not sure what we’re up to. I think we’re going to head out to mom’s house and visit her while we can before the snow comes… if it ever comes. It’s been REALLY dry here. Other than that, I think we’re going to be homebodies and just relax. I sat that now, but David gets bored quickly so we’ll probably end up on a hike or wandering around Bass Pro Shop or something like that.
See you guys Monday! I hope you have a great weekend! <3
Are you on a quest to Catch them all?
Last weekend we found ourselves at the park stuck under a tree in the rain while trying to figure out how a pokestop worked on my husband’s phone. Once the rain lightened up, we ran home. Before it rained though, we caught a few and walked around, hunting em down. I saw how fun the app was, and how much fun we were all having, so I finally caved and downloaded it. We jumped on the Pokemon train and we joined Team Instinct.
It’s just entertaining. I usually sigh when we get stuck in traffic but, the other day while we were driving in stop & go, one laned traffic all down a main road, the kids were in the backseat catching Pokemon, hitting up all the Pokestops on the way home and having a blast. If you’re sitting there thinking about how dumb this app is, or how you don’t understand the hype, I was right there with you last week. I’d never seen the cartoon or played with any of the Pokemon stuff as a kid. I just didn’t get it. I guess don’t knock it til you try it.
It’s usually a last minute decision to head out on our walks, forgetting all of the important things. So, I’ve compiled a little list of things you might find yourself needing while out playing the game.
Solar Charger. Nothing stinks worse than being in the middle of catching a pokemon and your phone dies. Ugh! Talk about a bummer, right?!
Sunblock. You’re bound to be outdoors for a bit if you’re trying to catch them all. You don’t want to get burned while doing so.
Stay hydrated! Super important! Try this Squirtle water bottle to help you do so.
Snacks. Chances are you’ll get a bit hungry with all the walking around. Why not store your snacks in some Pokeballs?! How fun, right?!
And here’s just a little list of things I’ve found that you might just love if you’re a fan.
Also, you should grab a cool hat like Ash’s
I’m really considering ordering one of these lunchboxes for Fin & one for Maddie.
And I’m sure that we’ll be picking up some Pokemon clothes and accessories when we do our back to school shopping!
What about you? Have you joined the craze? What team did you join and why?
It’s almost Fall, y’all! Are you as excited as I am?! I’m SO ready for it! I’m so over this 100+ degree weather! I’m over sweating just standing outside while waiting to pick up the kids! I’m over not being able to even let the kids play outside because it’s too hot. I’m over not sitting outside while they play because of the heat. I’m just ready for Fall! The colors change, everything cools down, life just seems calmer after the back to school rush, end of summer vacation madness. It’s a good time.
