If you’ve followed this blog for a while now, you know that my husband and I have been on a bit of a health kick. I don’t think “kick” is the proper word for it really, but we’ve definitely made healthier choices over the last year + for our family. Especially after the medical retirement and the medication that bumped David’s weight up higher than he’d ever seen it. Jumping on this 2 week Activia challenge was a no brainer for the both of us. (And there is a coupon for YOU when you click that link)
I am not the biggest fan of yogurt, but these daily probiotic drinks are quickly becomming an obsession of mine. They’re perfect for those grab & go mornings. I can drink one with my coffee, or in the car on the way to the zoo, or while walking to the local library. SO convienent. One of our biggest struggles with our healthy journey has simply been convienence. Sometimes it is just easier to grab fast food on our way out the door, or grab something quicker to eat. These have seriously helped with that problem! A banana & a daily drink and good to go! I love them. They’re such a little game changer.
It is so common to overlook the link between our gut and our brains, but the gut actually contains 10 times more health-determining bacteria than the rest of the body – protecting us from infection and illnesses. Introducing Activia Dailies. Now there’s a quick, easy and tasty way to enjoy your daily probiotics. A quick low fat yogurt drink packed with Activia’s billions of live and active probiotics!
“Be the change you wish to see” is the age old saying, but when we want to change our health and fitness habits, often times it can feel like our goals are unachievable. From handling mom duties to a full-time career, the hours or minutes in a day can quickly slip away, making it oh so easy to lose track of our goals. I grabbed mine from my local Walmart and I have a coupon code for you! Head here to get an ibotta rebate —> Activia Challenge
You should have seen me and my “I don’t need a cart” pride trying to carry these around the store. HAHA! Just opt for the cart or basket, people. Don’t be “proud” like me. haha. Again, head here to grab your coupons and learn more about Activia.
It has been such a busy month, that last month of school — all the awards days, feild days, graduation days, etc etc… so busy. BUT that means I’ve put on clothes and taken photos.
Messy mirror pics are just my favorite. Haha. You’ll never know what you’ll catch in the background, I keep it very real life and that’s just more fun for me. More often than not we see the highlight reel of people’s lives on social media and that can SO greatly affect you and make you feel like you’re not good enough. YOU ARE! You only see what THEY WANT YOU TO SEE! So, here’s me and my dirty ass mirror and my messy, lived in pictures. 🙂
Hi, guys and gals! Happy to have you here again today! Today I wanted to chat about how to UP your Easter food prep game without breaking the bank and without actually working harder. Smarter not harder, right?! Right! So, stuffed green olives is my answer for you. Now, hear me out… I know that sounds a bit silly…olives are an “smarter not harder” fix?! How so, amber?! Well, let me tell ya…..
Everyone loves to snack and graze. Especially at get togethers. Try a platter. Add your favorite cheeses, meats and nuts and don’t forget the Pearls Specialties olives. These olives add a refined touch without spending a bunch. That’s a win in my book!
David and I love to add em to our lunches. We dice em up and add em to sandwiches or to pizzas. Tonight for dinner I’m making a chicken bacon pasta salad (very similar to this one I’ve shared before) using these Pitted Kalamata olives and I’m so excited about it. It’s going to be so yummy! Check my IG stories later for it because I’m sure I’ll share a pic :p
Tell me your favorite way to eat olives? Do you make a platter and eat your stuffed green olives that way? Do you use them to top a salad? A pizza? They’re even perfect for a girls night in. Just add some cheese and crackers to a platter with these bad boys and done! Who wouldn’t eat that up?! I know I would. Do your prefer black olives? green olives? Stuffed olives? Have you tried the Garlic Stuffed Olives yet? Or the Blue Cheese Stuffed Olives? Those would be so yummy with a platter of buffalo chicken. Mmm. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it and I just ate pizza for lunch (with olives on it, duh).
So, boom. There you have it. A few different ideas and ways to incorporate the best olives into your Easter food prepping, snack makings, and meals in general. 🙂
Happy Monday, you guys! I hope you have a nice week ahead of you. I wanted to pop in and share some of my favorite outfits from February with you all. Let’s play “I spy” with the backgrounds. haha Each day is different.
We thrift a lot of our clothes, but I did what I could to link a few of the similar pieces and a few actual pieces.
School pictures came home the other day…. like a whole package of them and they’re like “Buy em or send em back to the school” and the very idea of them just getting thrown away was almost enough to make me drop the $9583763 on em (no) but instead, I snapped pics of em and sent them right back to school annoyed at the very waste of all of those photos. But, you guys…. Look at my babies! *insert all the heart eyes here* They’re getting so big and I swear they just get more beautiful every day. Is that weird to say about little boys?! I don’t think so. They are beautiful. I made them. I grew them. I’ve managed to keep them alive. (with the help of David of course, but it’s MY blog so he gets left out a lot. haha). I actually prefer my own pics of Fin though becase those freckles melt me, you guys. See here.
Otherwise here’s a fresh look at me. Haha. It only made sense to include one of myself (there’s an updated David pic below too). It’s been a while since I shared a post here. If you follow me on Instagram or my blog’s Facebook page (ambernmccain is me across all social media), you’ll see more pics there. I just forget to come here and ramble sometimes. I guess it’s just easier to share my quick post on Instagram stories or something instead of sitting down to type up a post. I know that sounds silly, but hey…
In other news, my baby boy lost a tooth. My tiny Owen isn’t so tiny anymore, you guys and man… my heart hurts. I’m so proud of the person he’s becomming, but this little milestone really just hit me hard. He’s growing up. It’s just weird knowing that he’s our last baby and there’s just no stopping him now…
But it’s hard to be sad when he RUNS out to greet you yelling, “MOM!!! DADDY!!!! I LOST MY TOOTH” and was just beaming ear to ear with excitement. The tooth fairy in our house brings a gift for their first tooth. He scored a LEGO Pokeball complete with a Pokemon inside. He’s pretty pleased.
David and I squeezed in a zoo trip sans kiddos the other day… mostly to enjoy the sort of warm weather and not be cooped up in the house, but we managed to grab a selfie with a tiger so that’s pretty cool.
That’s my ramble. I hope things are great for you guys! <3
Seriously, if you have kids… you need to go to Target (as if you even needed a Target run excuse *wink*) and grab some of these! They’re great for hands and/or face! They come in 3 packages: Gentle, Sensitive, and Germ Removal. With three kids still at home, you can bet your butt we go through so many wipes, tissues, paper towels, etc etc on repeat. These won’t break the bank, they’re totally budget friendly at only $1.49 each. You can totally order em online as well. Grab your Kleenex Wet Wipes here.
Jam hands are a real thing…. my oldest is almost 11 and he’s my messiest eater. He comes home with mustard stains on him and if sandwiches were made for lunch, I always know which one to call to clean up his mess. Haha.
Maddie is my neat freak. She likes everything arranged a certain way and gets really annoyed if you mess with it, move it around. She likes things neat and tidy, so I keep the germ removal wipes on hand specifically for her.
Then there’s Owen… this kid is just an all around mess. We keep a pack of wipes in the car at all times specifically for this kid’s face! I don’t know how he does it, but he constantly has stuff all over that face. He’s always been my messy faced kiddo… but man, we’ve reached new levels now that he’s a full time kindergartener. Markers, paint, snacks, juice, food, you name it… he’s wearing it on his face.
“This wipe smells goooooood, Mom!!!” – Owen, age 6. “Okay, buddy…..whatever you say” -Mom, age 32.
Know that you know and have met my top three wipe carrying reasons, tell me about yours?!
They’re also great for our Colorado adventures – hiking, camping, snowboarding, even just park trips… they get tossed into a bag and even though everyone insists we don’t need them, we always end up using them. ALWAYS. I will never not carry wipes. They’re just HANDY!
You can find em in the Kleenex aisle, or pretend you didn’t read that part if you just need a good wander around Target.
