The other day David and I dropped the kids off at school and headed up to Denver to do some shopping. YAY! If you remember, I’ve lost a decent amount of weight over the last year-ish so new clothes definitely can’t hurt at this point. Have you heard of Evereve yet? Such a cute little shop!
Evereve is a retail brand founded by moms for moms. We all know the shopping struggles, with kids especially…phew. Evereve has that taken care of for you! The moms running the Evereve we went to were so stinkin’ cute and friendly.
Evereve is on a mission to inspire you to embrace your beauty and power, and to show that dressing like a mom is a really great thing.
Poor David had NO idea what to do with himself while we were there though, because when he shops with me, his main job is to hold my items, but every single time he’d have one, she’d come grab it from him to put into my dressing room. MY dressing room. She’d set it up for me, even put various sizes in there for me just in case because she knew some things ran up or ran small. They wrote my name on there, gave me feedback on every outfit I walked out in, it was just such an amazing shopping experience. It was just so much fun! I felt like such a VIP that day, and I WAS!
Keep scrolling to see which I took home! The grey sweater? The jeans? Those camo joggers?! So many great options! Sharing more on my Instagram as well.
Evereve is also offering one of you the chance to win a $500 shopping spree! Isn’t that awesome?! Follow them on Facebook. Head here for more details.
Side note, I greatly regret not getting that long grey sweater. Hopefully when Evereve opens up here in Colorado Springs next month they’ll have it and I can grab it because *heart eyes*.
If you read yesterday’s post, you saw that I’m doing a 31 day blog challenge.
Today is Day 2. I’m supposed to share 20 things about me.
Oh good grief, this sounds hard….
1. I’m already drawing a blank! OK, I’m bad with things like this.
2. I’m 31. I can never remember. On my 29th birthday, I argued with a friend that I was only 28 because I honestly thought I was 28!
3. I love to window shop. I will spend forever narrowing down my cart only to never checkout.
4. I’m a thrifter. I love love love thrift shops.
5. Most of the items in my house are thrifted. Even our dining room table. Remember it?
6. I have 3 kids. Fin, Maddie, Owen.
7. I drink only coffee & water. Occassionally I’ll have something else, but 90% of the time it’s coffee and water.
8. I don’t like cereal for breakfast, but love it as a nighttime snack.
9. I have had my nose pierced (currently – setptum), my monroe, and a dermal eye anchor (it fell out).
10. Tattoos. I have em.
11. I like to read but rarely do.
12. I’m a sucker for a cute mug. You can search the hashtag #ambersmugcollection on Instagram and you’ll see some of my favorites.
13. David & I have been married for 10 years this year. We’ve known each other since I was 13, he was 14.
14. I pick up things with my toes off the floor all the time. It is so much easier than bending down. #lazy
15. I had a tummy tuck summer of 2014.
16. I’ve lost 40+ pounds since moving to Colorado. I cut out sugar in my coffee and we spend a lot of time outdoors, hiking, walking trailing, walking to the park… I’m just more active than I used to be.
17. I sing, a lot. To the radio, to whatever song is in my head, just while talking… I’m a very animated person.
18. I have lived in: Michigan (born there), Tennessee, Kentucky, Alaska, Georgia and Colorado.
19. I am a victim of identity theft. Sort of (that’s the short version). Long version — Social Security messed up somewhere and there are TWO Amber Nicole’s born same hospital, same day, same original last name with same social. BAM! What?! I know. Totally insane, huh?! Yeah… it’s easier to say “victim of identity theft” then go into detail.
20. I sell LipSense & it’s really fun. <-- click to read more about LipSense.Day 1
As we close out the 2015 chapter of our lives, I thought it’d be a fine time to reflect back on the past year of this little blog by highlighting a few posts throughout each month of the year.
In January I shared what Maddie’s closet looks like as well as a few key pieces to any kids’ wardrobe and kicked off the Mini Fashionista with this post. Also in January, we lost our little Sadie Bug to the great outdoors.
February brought us some more of the Mini Fashionista, my go-to iced coffee recipe (along with thoughts of a stay at home mom), a blogger event with Graco in Atlanta, as well as how to throw a Valentine’s Day party without breaking the bank.
In March, we continued the Mini Fashionista and this time the boys were a part of it as well. March was also the month that I realized I was too short for normal people jeans & the month that Owen started part day prek in Georgia.
April brought in the Avengers, more of the Mini Fashionista showing off her new haircut. I talked about why I put myself in a mommy time out, and I just talked about life in general – car troubles, food I’ve eaten in Columbus, Georgia. April was also the month that I used Band-Aids inappropriately. Ha!
In May we started the moving to Colorado process! I also shared some super easy body scrub, a gift guide for golf lovers, a Mother’s day wrap up, and we spent lots of time at the pool! Oh, and the kids moved up to 1st & 3rd grade! Yay!
We spent June lounging around at the pool and watching all of our stuff be moved across the United States. We finally made it to Oklahoma in the end of June after more car troubles. *sigh* I also put together a Baby shower care package for my friends, Lisa & Ken.
August was a BUSY month for us! The kids started a new school. Maddie cried on the 1st day. I shared my obsession with my JORD watch. Fin encountered a bully. Oh, and we bought a house! Hooray! Oh, oh! We put on a mini school clothes fashion show!
September was a month of exploring Colorado! We visited Garden of the Gods, Garden of the Gods. I shared some easy DIY bird feeders as well as some tips for a stress free morning! Oh, I also shared photos of the updated living room (Spoiler alert: we painted that gross yellow color). Oh, and I stepped totally out of my comfort zone & shared some makeup looks with you guys!
In October I shared some thrifting hauls with you guys, as well as talked about the night that my kids all lied to me! Yikes, right?! I also shared some yummy milkshakes and some tasty pumpkin snickerdoodle cookies! Oh, we also had parent teacher conferences and Fin won an award for having a positive attitude!
That brings us all the way up to December! I shared our Christmas wrap up with you guys! I’m actually using this mug again today as I type this up. I talked about how my kids have their own little lives amongst themselves and how cool it is to see them having what I used to have with my siblings. own little lives. I shared with you how to put together a manly man’s stocking as well as how to make some Minion playdough. Oh! And I shared an EASY costume idea for your Elf-on-the-Shelf.
It’s been so fun putting this post together and looking back through a year of posts. I hope you guys have enjoyed it too and I hope you guys have a fabulous 2016!
Thanks for sticking around!
Have you ever just known that person who seems so super awesome at first but over time that sparkle starts to fade a bit?
I never want to be that person. I never want to put on a front or not just be me.
So with that being said, I feel like you guys should know a few things about me.
My house is usually a hot mess. We have three kids, a big ass dog and a cat! There’s going to be animal hair and probably crayons or toys out whenever you come over.
There’s usually laundry sitting on top of the dryer that I’ve yet to put away.
There are usually dirty dishes in the sink waiting to make their way to the dishwasher. (With this many people in one house, they just don’t all fit at once).
I cuss like a sailor. I can’t help it. Being married to a soldier and around so many soldiers, it just happens.
I very rarely have decent looking hair.
I very rarely wear makeup.
I’m usually a hot mess.
(this would be today after doing my hair & some makeup but long after and by the time I took this photo, hair was up, bra was off, makeup had faded a lot).
I laugh… a lot. I just love to be happy go-lucky and I love to crack up over dumb stuff.
I drink a lot of coffee, I mean a LOT.
I don’t wear fingernail polish on my fingers.
I do on my toes but it’s usually chipped & in need of a good touch up.
I’m not up to date on current television shows. We don’t have cable & I don’t want a lot of TV anyway.
I love to read but haven’t read in sooooo long.
I don’t like seafood.
I’m loyal to a fault. I constantly give 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th chances.
I’m too nice but I love a good vent session too.
I’m not a fan of drama or gossip. If either comes up around me, I usually just sit quietly wishing I was anywhere else.
My world pretty much revolves around my kids.
I have a love/hate relationship with Bo the dog. He’s hilarious at times but then he jumps at the window barking at the garbage truck, the neighbors, the mailman that just left a package at the door, the bug man that’s spraying too close to our house, the loud truck he heard drive by, the kid he heard playing outside, etc etc.
Same with the cat. He sheds a lot and likes to try to escape out the backdoor whenever he has the chance.
Plus, pets kind of stink…. a lot.
I’m indecisive. “Where do you wanna eat? I really don’t care…. you pick!”
I want a haircut but love how pretty my hair is when I actually do anything with it.
I love new clothes and new stuff but HATE spending money. I always think, “that could’ve bought a thing of milk, or that shopping trip could’ve put gas in the car!”
I think that’s enough for today though. I wouldn’t wanna run you guys off. 😉

I talked a while back about how we stay healthy with Walgreens but today I want to focus more on MY health; women’s health.
Did you know that May is Women’s Health Month? I didn’t either! I honestly feel like as a mother, I put everyone before myself. I put the kids before me and my health, I put David before me and my health. There are days that I don’t eat anything until dinner time and others that I just snack on junk all through out the day.
After the crazy busy last few weeks we’ve had, David knew I was borderline breaking down. He told me that on his day off he’d entertain the kids so that I could focus on ME. In preparation of this “me day”, I went to Walgreens and stocked up on a few things.
I can never pass up a new coffee cup.
Chocolate because, YES. (There was a kit-kat but I’d already eaten it)
Facial wipes because as a mom, I very rarely focus on my own face.
Tanning lotion because again – momlife rules all.
Polish, polish remover, + accessories because cute toes just make me happier.
A magazine to sit and read while my nails dry.
Some one a day vitamins because I hardly eat like I should.
In my head, health is close to happy and stress free. I chose to focus on de-stressing myself because all the stress I was carrying can’t be healthy.
I took a bubble bath, actually shaved all parts of my legs, did my toes, drank some coffee, read a magazine, ate some chocolate. It was GLORIOUS! We even went out for dinner so that I wouldn’t have to cook. It was amazing.
Isn’t that color just so happy? It’s “Mod Square” in case you were curious.
So what about you? What to you screams Women’s Health or Health Awareness?
If you’re in the market for some health care products, I’d hope over to Walgreens. I don’t know about you, but Walgreens to me just screams the perfect pit stop for it all.
And to me, stress is a MAJOR health issue so I try to take a little de-stress day here & there and let me tell you, I feel SO much better after having done so.
A simple little de-stress yourself day can truly do wonders for your mind and body. Try it for yourself.
TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY!
Today’s giveaway is for the fashionista in you!
